Modelado de la Formación de Porosidad Durante la Solidificación de Aleaciones

A finite element model for simulating macrosegregation during solidification of alloys of many components is extended to include the presence of gas-forming elements. The model solves conservation equations of mass, momentum, energy and alloy components, including gas-forming elements like hydrogen and nitrogen. The results of transport calculations are contrasted with thermodynamic equilibrium conditions to establish the formation of pores.
Calculations showing hydrogen porosity formation in Nickel alloys are presented and the effects of segregation and
solidification parameters on porosity are discussed.
