Estudio de la Disipación de Calor en una Presa de Hormigón Compactado con Rodillo
Abstract
Construction of certain large structures like roller compacted concrete dams involve the placement of large amounts of concrete which brings the problem of heat production in large quantities as a consequence of concrete curing. In the case of Pangue Dam, a 120 meter height dam located in the Bio-Bio river, a study of the dissipation of the heat was performed using the heat transmission equation associated with the elasticity equation to see the temperature distribution and the stresses caused by the temperature gradient. To perform this
study the finite element method was used. The boundary conditions are of various types because the surface of the concrete dam is in contact with the air in on sector, with water and with the foundation ground in other. The temperature in
this different boundary conditions varies with time 0 the day and the season of the year which become important because the heat dissipation last further more then the time of the filling of the reservoir.
