Estudio Numérico del Efecto de Explosivos sobre una Superficie Plana

Abstract


In this paper,. results of numerical evaluations of the response of the ground to explosive charges located above the surface are presented and compared with experimental observations. The crater dimensions and the size of the damaged volume are estimated using a so-called discrete element representation (OEM) of the medium, employed earlier by the authors in fracture and i,rnpact response studies, together with well known equations to define the blast pressures. It is shown that the predictions closely agree with measured response, and that the approach may therefore be used with confidence in engineering design.
