Abstract

The present work has direct application in stations of maritime pumping and pipelines in general of variable characteristics and flows of low viscosity, existent in our country.
In the important transient flow analysis arising from hydraulic design are involved the startup, stoppage, control of pump and the opening and closing of valve associated with them.
By means of the simulation by numerical method of the performance of such stations it is possible to determine approximately, the physical means to apply in order to avoid petroleum overflowing, with the consequent ecological
damages.
The developed mathematical model resolves the hyperbolically equations of the formulated algorithm based on the characteristic equations, limited by the stability criteria of Courant ( CFL ).
