Modelo de la Penetración de Minerales Envainados de Acero Líquido en Cucharas

Abstract

In the present work a model to analyze the melting of cored wire minerals inmersed into ladles with liquid steel is described. The model uses an iterative implicit finite difference
formulation, in which the position of the solidification front is updated, based on the resolution of the energy conservation at the solid-liquid interface. By applying this model, the penetration depth and melting time can be determined as a function of the wire feed rate, wire dimension and degree of superheat of the steel bath in the ladle.
