Abstract

As a result of the entrance of the material in an inelastic range, a point of a solid experiences certain degree of damage. This results in damage of the structure that is
traduced in loss of stiffness, ductility and strength when the structure is reloaded.
In this paper, a theoretical and numerical study which is able to predict the behaviour of repaired structures under reload is presented. First, the local damage is defined and the global damage of the original structure when loaded is evaluated. Then, in a second stage, the repairmen is numerically simulated and the behaviour of the repaired structure
is analysed.
The study is done with a non linear finite element program, using damage and plasticity constitutive models. In the paper, the models used for the materials, for the evaluation of
damage and for the repairmen are described. The paper is completed with applications examples to reinforced concrete elements tested under static load, repaired and the reloaded.
