Solución del Problema Termoelastohidrodinámico de Contacto Lineal

José Di Paolo, Fernando A. Saita

Abstract

A one dimensional model of the thermo-elastohydrodynamic line contact problem is numerically solved using the finite element method. The resulting highly nonlinear system of equations is simultaneously solved employing Newton's method. The solutions
involves the domain determination which is a priori unknown.
The technique, wich includes the use of an adaptive discretization, proves to be effective to resolve the huge pressure and temperature gradients that are present.
The obtained prediction do not agree with previously published results which were got by iterative techniques of the predictor-corrector type applied on the uncoupled system of equations.
