Flujo Tubular no Permanente por Presencia de Trenes de Ondas de Presión

Abstract

The aim of the present work is to establish. for a laminar flow in rigid pipes, the kind of dependence betvveen the oscillating pressure gradients that are similar to those
observed in waterhammer problems, and the resultant axial velocity distributions, mean velocities and shear stresses at the inner wall of the pipes. The proposed
numerical solution is based on a finite difference model for the continuity, Navier-Stokes and state equations in order to consider the compressibility effects on the fluid due to the intense pressure fluctuations. An implicit scheme is developed, resulting in a tridiagonal system of linear equations that is solved for an example applying the
Thomas algorithm.
