Modelado del Comportamiento Termomecànico de Refractarios en Aplicaciones Siderúrgicas

Abstract


In this work a simple analytical model is presented to calculate thermal stresses induced by different preheating schedules. As an example calculations are performed for a 100 tn high alumina (70% Al2O3) ladle.The stresses calculated with this model are compared with those obtained by finite element method. Based on this thermomechanical analysis preheating schedules can be selected to achieved good control of the temperature of steel in the ladle, with induced stress levels that do not exceed material strength limitations.
