Modelación De La Evolución Morfológica De Cauces Curvos Con Erosión De Márgenes

A mathematical model to describe the morphological evolution of the cross-section of a curved channel, including bank erosion, is presented. The model is constituted by a hydrodynamic module, which combines the lateral distribution method (LDM) for the longitudinal component and a parametric model for the transversal component, a module for bottom sediment transport, based on the mechanistic model of Kovaks & Parker generalized to include curvature effects, and a morphologic module, constituted by Exner equation for the bottom evolution and an algorithm for bank erosion. The model is validated by comparing its predictions with experimental data for a straight and a curved channel.
