Análisis por Elementos Finitos del Colapso en Tuberías para Aplicaciones en la Industria del Petróleo

Abstract


Casing tubulars for oil industry applications work under severe Elxternal loadings, mainly mechanical (external pressure. tension. flexure), thermal and chemical.
Traditionally casing tubulars have been characterized by its resistance to failure under external pressure (collapse pressure).
In the present work we analize the effect of several mechanical and geometrical parameters on the collapse pressure of casing, using Finite Element models. Wealso commenton the characteristics of the models for this
kind of analysis. Finally we compare our results with results from actual tests performed at the Full Scale Testing Facility of our Researchr.Center and we outline some improvements for both the numerical and physical tests.
