Numerical Simulation of Waves in Fluid Saturated Porous Media

Biot's theory describing the propagation of waves in fluid-saturated porous solids is applied to show numerically the presence of type II compressional waves in such media, a diffusion-typoe wave due to the motion in opposite phase of the solid and fluid phases. The equations of motion are solved using finite element techniques and numerical results are shown and analyzed.
