Un Modelo Numérico de Difusión para la Simulación de Estratificación Térmica en Cuerpos de Agua
Abstract
A 1D Mathematical Model of Thermal Stratification with variable eddy diffusivity to simulate the behaviour of great water bodies, is presented. The vertical heat diffusion equation was solved by an implicit numerical scheme
that accounts for the spacial variability of the eddy diffusivity, the main model parameter. The effect of an advetive inflow with a temperature different than that of the water body, was simulated. The model allowed to calculate seasonal cycles of temperature distribution, thermocline generation, heat tlows and vertical eddy diffusivity profiles.
