Modelo Cuasi-3D para Transporte y Deposición de Sedimentos
Abstract
A mathematical model to predict the suspended sediment load discharged into a reservoir and the erosion-deposition rates which modify its bottom, is presented. The model includes three-dimensional effects through a two-dimensional formulation laterally integrated. The equations are solved by the finite element method.
The model is verified comparing its sedimentation predictions with the empirical curves usually used.
It is shown that three-dimensional effects are relevant to correctly predict the physical processes involved in the system under study.
