Simulación del Proceso de Solidificación de la Fundición Gris Considerando un Modelo Microestructural

This paper describes a model to simulate the solidification of cast iron accounting for the kinetics of microstructure formation lay means of grain nucletion and growth processes. This coupled model of kinetics and heat transfer allows to know some microstructure features from
which many mechanical properties may be predicted. The results obtained with this model are discussed and compared with experimental observations and other existing numerical solutions.
