Modelos de Turbulencia y su Aplicación en Flujos Internos

Jorge O. Peirini

Abstract

This paper presents a brief account the advantages and disadvantages of various turbulence models used in the computation of turbulent flows. The two-equations models appear to be the simplest and more used ones in most 2D flows.
The basic equations are the Reynolds averaged momentum equations in conjuction with a two-equation (k-Є) turbulence model. The general numerical formulation is based on Galerkin's method and the advection parts of the equations are treated by the method of characteristics. Computational results are presented and compared with other author's.
